Kosaburou is part of the other group of teenage Team Rocket members. Yamato and he are from the same ranks as Kojirou and Musashi, only Sakaki seems to favor them more. This angers Musashi and Kojirou when the boss personally bails Kosaburou and Yamato out of jail. Kosaburou is usually pushed in the background when Yamato and he are featured in episodes.
Kosaburou despises Kojirou, and usually refers to him as "Jimmy", "John", or anything that starts with a "J". And in return, he is usually called Bűtch, in which he takes offense.
In Sodateya no Himitsu, Kosaburou and Yamato's scam is to use a breeding center to secretly steal trainer's Pokémon. Kosaburou, along with Yamato, made another appearance in Toraware no Rugia, where they captured a baby Rugia, named Silver,. By doing this, they lured another "grown up" Rugia to add to their collection.
Kosaburou and Yamato seem to get more "lucky breaks" than Musashi and Kojirou do.
